What is her future now?
Please help support women, girls and families in Afghanistan now.
All the money raised here will go to Afghanaid, an experienced NGO still working on the ground in Afghanistan today, despite the
enormous challenges and uncertainty they face.
By donating here, and in person at the Bake Sale we held in September 2021, friends, friends of friends and kind strangers have already
helped us to smash our fundraising target. This money will go direct to Afghanaid, as will any further donations received here.
Please help if you can, in anyway you can.
Since the beginning of 2021, over half a million people have fled from their homes in Afghanistan as a result of conflict and more still have lost their livelihoods in the war. Now, with the return of the Taliban, the lives and rights of women, girls and minorities in Afghanistan are at greater risk than ever.
Afghanaid is already mobilising to deliver emergency assistance to families in Afghanistan and advocating for the British Government to act now to protect women, girls and minority groups.
Despite enormous challenges on the ground, Afghan aid is working hard to ensure the safety of their staff and have already re-opened a number of their provincial and district offices to continue their work in supporting remote rural communities. Right now, they are preparing to provide emergency assistance to families whose lives have been devastated by the conflict.
At the same time, Afghanaid is calling on the British Government, the EU and other big donors to urgently resume and increase humanitarian and development aid to the country. The most effective way to deliver this aid is through the UN and the established NGOs, like Afghanaid, who have years of experience delivering support across the country regardless of who exercises control locally. For Afghanaid, their strong local roots and reputation for impartiality are a huge strength in this context.
Afghanaid, together with other international NGOs, is also calling on the British Government to act to protect the lives and rights of Afghan women, girls and minorities now.
Your kindness today can help Afghanaid supply emergency shelter and essentials for families who have lost everything and ensure the rights of women, girls and minorities are not forgotten in this crisis.
Thank you so much.
