Baja Fire Victims

Donation protected
Baja Fire Victims Group are a group of Americans from the USA that now live in Baja California in the Rosarito area. We had some pretty disastrous wild fires in our area in late October. We are not related to any of the recipients that benefit directly from our efforts. First we visited the sites of the fires and took donations of clothes, food, water, sleeping bags, etc., and met families who had lost their homes. We made contact with a local government entity, DIF, and the city of Rosarito to find who owned the properties where the houses were burned. We formed a core group of people who wanted to help and started to help spread the word. One of our members is on the board of a well-know and respected non-profit 501(c)3 who does other fundraising in our area, Baja Blues Fest Organization EIN #45-5173273. The Baja Blues Fest volunteered to collect and handle the funds for us and we formed a partnership to raise funds to build houses for the fire victims. Our monies have been spent on lumber, cement block, cement, timbers, roofing, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, flooring, furniture, appliances and other materials it takes to build a house. We helped to fund, $2600 worth, of the first house, 2 bdm approx 750 sq ft, that was built in the Colonio Morales area of Rosarito while we raised funds to build a 2nd house. We have hired a local contractor who gave us a set bid and a time frame for the second house, 1 bdm approx 500 sq ft. The flooring is now going into the second house and should be completed by about the 10th or 11th of January 2020. All financial records, receipts and bank statements can be had through J. Alameda at [email redacted], the President of the Baja Blues Fest. We are now looking to work on the 3rd home. Cash Withdrawl transfers direct from Go Fund Me to the Project Checking account of the Baja Blues Fest Chase Bank. Ray Ochoa of Baja Wine and Dine, oversees the contractor and the job site. When more materials are needed and labor to be paid, funds are requested from the BBF and are disbursed to Ray and then to the contractor with signed copies for labor and vendor receipts for the materials. When a house is complete the keys to the new house are given to the fire victim to enjoy their new home. And.... the process begins again as long as we have enough funds to build.
