Bailey's Leukemia Journey

Bailey was supposed to start Kindergarten on August 16, 2023. However, she felt ill the week leading up to school, so her mom took her to the Pediatrician, Urgent Care, and then the ER where she was transferred to Valley Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with Leukemia. Bailey started chemo on Monday, August 21st. The illness has been a traumatic process for her. It has taken a toll on her mentally and physically. In the past week and a half, she has had multiple spinal taps, bone marrow tests, steroid treatments, and chemo treatments. All are causing a lot of pain and discomfort. She took a few steps yesterday, but even those few steps drained her of any energy she had. Her parents and family have been by her side and have many emotions processing this illness.

As many of you know both Bailey's parents work and provide a great life for her. Due to her illness, her mom and dad will be taking time off to help care for Bailey. Any resources they have will be used up quickly due to Bailey's illness. They will have to cover medical expenses, food, gas, medication, supplies, and weekly trips to the hospital, as well as their regular bills. They have a long hard road ahead of them, and not having to worry about their financial obligations will help ease their minds while caring for Bailey. Her treatment journey is expected to last around 2 years. No contribution is too small. We appreciate any contributions. It all helps.
