In short, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a type of blood cancer in January of this year. After an initial 37-day stay in the hospital and two follow-up stays for three rounds of chemo, it was confirmed that I would need a Bone Marrow Transplant.

On July 6th, I received my transplant! I had an allogeneic stem cell transplant, meaning I had an unrelated donor. My husband Joe has been and will continue to be my caretaker once I leave the hospital. See the June 24, 2022 post on CaringBridge for detailed information about transplant.

We're hoping to raise funds to cover upcoming medical expenses and help us continue paying our bills while I'm out of work for at least the following year.
