Bailey Family-Harvey Relief

On 8/28/17 around 930pm we lost the battle of keeping Hurricane Harvey from taking our home. Once it hit the front door, the water started pouring through the garage door, back door, and the walls. When we realized that no matter what we did the water was going to continue to come in the house, we packed what we could. We got the dogs and my youngest daugther ready to leave. My husband put Brooke on his shoulders and I carried one dog out of the house into chest deep water. I called my parents who leave 3 streets over to let them know we were heading their way. My dad and my oldest daugther met us to help get brooke and our one dog into my parents home. My dad and my husband had to make several trips to get our bags and our other two dogs from the house. Sunday 8/28/17 will be a night I never forget. There was a moment when we got to the end of the street that I had to tell my husband to take brooke and I would wait for him to come back because the current was too strong, it was pouring rain and we could barely see in front of us.  We had to remove all the walls 4 feet up, insulation, floors, kitchen cabniets and vaniteys in the bathrooms. Now, we are trying to rebuild the house we once called a home.  All donations received will go to the rebuild process/repairs being done to our home, as well as the furniture and beds our kids lost.
