BADA Theatre Training

Hello, my name is Duane Shabazz and i am a rising third year at Western Michigan University. . I was fortunate to be accepted into BADA’s summer intensive program for this year. We will have intensive classes from 9am to 7pm five days a week. We will have the opportunity to work with professors from Yale’s school of drama and RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts). This is an opportunity that I never imaged myself having in my life and I am so excited to have it. This is a once in a life time chance and I was among the 90 actors accepted into this program out of 7000 that auditioned this year. It’s not guaranteed that this program will absolutely launch my career, but I will make a lot of connections that will definitely help me with achieving my career milestones. Evidence of this is their impressive alumni list that consists of two actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man; famous playwright and writer of the Oscar-winning film Moonlight Tarell Alvin Maccraney; and Academy Award nominated actor Paul Giamatti. I never thought that I would be blessed with the opportunity to get the same theatre training as actors that I adore. Coming from where I come from – which is Detroit – I never thought I would have the chance to go overseas at all, let alone for theatre training. I am grateful to have this opportunity and I wish and hope you will help me have this great experience. Therefore, i would greatly apprieciate it if you would donate as much money as you can to help me have this great experience
