Backus Apartment Fire

Tamara and her young daughter, Addison had a sudden fire in their home the evening of Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Thankfully, they are physically healthy and safe. However, they are devastated that they lost everything.  Tamara is the definition of strong. She works full time, is a dedicated mother as well as a grad student with a 4.0 GPA.  She would never ask for anything so we are doing it for her. The amount of generosity that has been shown thus far is astounding and is greatly appreciated.

Often we want to fix things as soon as we can but we are aware that this is a marathon and not a sprint. We are asking that you refrain from donating materials but rather cash or gift cards to: Target, Carter’s, or Old Navy. This will allow Tamara to get the necessities they need as time progresses.  If you feel that you have valuable items they could use when it is time for them to transition into their home, please contact us directly. This will aid us to track what is coming in so we can organize space and avoid duplicates.
