School Supplies in Cedar, Clinton & Muscatine Co.

Addressing School Supply Access: Community Action of Eastern Iowa is responding to the equity and accessibility of school supplies for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 12 in Cedar, Clinton and Muscatine Counties.  


Why We Need Your Help: Before the COVID - 19 pandemic, Community Action and its partner organizations received school supply donations which were set up so that children and their families could come in and select needed items from the "store" of available supplies. Because we are unable to safely collect or distribute school supplies during the pandemic, we will be providing each eligible child with a $25.00 gift card to Walmart to purchase back-to-school supplies. This allows each family to engage in the authentic experience of choosing supplies with their child as they prepare for the new school year. Each child will receive their own card, mailed and addressed specifically to them. We have received partial funding for this program through the Community Services Block Grant, but require additional funding to meet the need. Please consider a donation. Your gift will help children return to school prepared and ready to learn.
