Backpacks for the children of Timor

The Rainbow Committee would love your support for this special initiative for the children of Timor.

The Rainbow Tekka (kindy) in Poerema, a rural
village in East Timor has their graduation ceremony in September 2018 and we would love to present 150 children with a backpack full of school supplies at this ceremony.  These children live in extreme poverty and for many of them such a gift would be life changing.   We believe every child is entitled to an education....together we can give hope and an education to these children. 

The Rainbow Committee’s aim is to raise $6,000.  Each backpack will cost $40 including the backpack and school supplies inside it with 150 students to receive one. 

All funds raised will go directly to the Edmund Rice Foundation in Timor to purchase the backpacks and school supplies.  This also means the money raised is spent in Dili and benefits the local Timor economy.
