Back the Blackers..

Everyone knows the Blacker family. Why you ask? It’s simple because they are that family. They are that family that holds your babies, and transforms before your eyes, as forever grandparents. They will love your babies and spoil them to no end. Then send them home!

They are that family that will provide a roof and food for anyone who is in need. NO questions asked. NO expectations. They are that safe place.

They will always gift you with prayers while blessing each of us with their generosity and unconditional kindness. Their Blacker adoption process is quick and life changing.

However, it has come to our attention that this family, our family, is wrestling with a great sadness. John, Lori, their children, and grandchildren need love shown in that amazing Blacker tradition.

“In early December of 2021 John started experiencing persistent vertigo. After multiple days of working through it, his wife convinced him to see a physician. At the hospital, they ended up doing a brain MRI and found 2 large tumors, the most concerning being lodged in the critical area of his cerebellum. Immediately they began whole-brain radiation to prevent tonsillar herniation (a usually terminal event where the cerebellum is forced out of the brain due to the tumor). The doctors also did a full body scan to find a possible primary source for the brain tumors. What they found was, that John had stage IV lung cancer, specifically non-small cell/squamous cell carcinoma. On January 14th, 2022 he started a triple combination chemotherapy regimen. He will continue to undergo chemotherapy and monitor the brain metastasis with possible follow-on neurosurgery.”

We are starting this group to work in an amazing way for this exceptional family, while they work through the difficult life changes they will be facing.
