My youngest son Ryley, 19, is a sophomore at university of Buffalo in the school of Engineering. He has recently decided to switch into the school of Arts and Sciences where he is creating his own major. He is following a passion for photography digital media and public speaking..with Teaching in mind as well.. the stress of this semesters heavy course load ,switching majors ,creating a major combined with perfect storm of lack of sleep, a large weight loss from working hard , getting fitter than he already was .(lost 45 lbs _3 months) lead to a sudden and frightening health crisis..we decided to bring him home to monitor his well being.. my web md was not enough to diagnose him and time was a factor. A emergency room trip was needed and blood work confirmed his exhaustion ,eliminated usual suspects found in blood , and confirmed he needed rest, good food and time at home. A week later he is recovering fast and getting to the Ryley we all know and love .
I am starting this fundraiser to.help cover emergency room fees , our missed time at work during crisis and more time we need off to help Ryley continue to get healthy, finish this semester up and prepare for future . Unfortunately I confused NY 's open enrollment for new health care patients as the general renewal time for all health insurance..when I went to renew on December 1 I found out our insurance lapsed the day before on Nov 30.. we will be covered again Jan 1 after I renewed but we were not covered for ER trip. We had several visits after the ER with his pediatrician, a great councilor and more scheduled before we are insured again.. I am lucky to be self employed and my wife has the support of her wonderful employers and co workers to take the time to help Ryley back on the train.. please feel free contact us with any questions .. grateful to you all..
