It is with great sadness that I share with you that Latoya Pack, Secretary and Registrar at Willow Brook Elementary, has passed away after several days of advanced medical care following a sudden medical emergency. All of us are deeply saddened by the loss and we send our most heartfelt condolences to the Pack family. This is a difficult time for our school and our community, and we want to work together to support each other.

Mrs. Pack was a vital part of the Oak Ridge community, the Oak Ridge Schools, Willow Brook Elementary School, her coworkers and the hundreds of families and children she served. For the past nine years, Latoya was the first person you met when you entered Willow Brook’s doors and greeted everyone with kindness and respect. She was truly the face and heart of Willow Brook. She was an amazing mother to three children, two of which are current students in ORS and the other, a recent graduate. This tremendous loss will be felt widely across our ORS community.

Funds raised here will go to her husband and children to assist with their immediate needs. While nothing can fill the void Latoya has left, we hope our efforts can ease some strains on the family during this very difficult time.

On April 12th Latoya Pack was admitted to Methodist Medical Center with a life-threatening medical issue requiring immediate emergency surgery. Her condition has fluctuated as she begins the road to recovery, and we are asking for your thoughts, prayers, and support as the family navigates through this difficult and uncertain time. Latoya is a vital part of the Oak Ridge community, the Oak Ridge Schools and specifically, Willow Brook Elementary School, and the families and children she serves. As the school’s Administrative Assistant/Registrar, Latoya is the first person you meet when you enter Willow Brook’s doors. You can always expect to be greeted with kindness and respect. She is truly the face and heart of our school. Latoya is also a loving wife and an amazing mother, and she and her family need us most now. We are asking for your support for the Pack family as they navigate what could be a very long road of recovery, both physically and emotionally. The dollars raised through this fund will go directly to Rusty and their children for immediate financial needs and bills they incur.

Again, thank you for your support to this incredible family and to this wonderful, amazing woman who has faithfully served our children and families in the Oak Ridge Schools for the past eight years. Your kindness, prayers, and love are graciously needed and appreciated.
