Tasha and Darrell would like to share their exciting news!
Aiden Lane Digby was born at Ball Memorial Hospital at 4:32 PM Thursday, August 2nd weighing 6 lbs., 11 oz. and 20 ½ inches long. He was born with a full head of beautiful hair and glorious little feet.
Unfortunately, baby had some complications at birth. Born with a condition called Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy, or HIE; baby was immediately flown to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis where he was admitted to the Newborn ICU. Aiden was placed in the Neonatal Therapeutic Hypothermia setting (cooling blanket), which brings his body temperature to 33.5˚ Celsius (92.4˚ F) to help with the healing process of his little body. He will remain in the cooling blanket setting for 3 days, after which they will begin to warm him up over a 24 hour period.
Due to this unexpected hurdle, Darrell has not gone to work, because both mommy and daddy want to stay by baby's side. At a minimum we know that baby will remain at Riley Hospital for 2 more weeks; which will cause additional loss of income and additional stress for Tasha and Darrell. They are both very private, and do not want to ask for help. However, it is apparent to us (the family) this unexpected bump in the road has caused a lot of extra financial strain and stress on Mommy and Daddy. We (the family) are helping out as best we can, but are unable to meet all of their immediate financial necessities and daily living expenses.
Since this has been a very traumatic and emotional time for Tasha and Darrell, and we want to help lighten their financial burden and stress as much as possible. If you would like to share in blessing Tasha and Darrell and to help lighten their load so they can stay together to bond, love and support their new baby over the next few weeks; our family would genuinely be ever so thankful, grateful and blessed.
