Baby William Flerchinger

At Milton-Stateline Adventist School we recently welcomed a new music teacher and her family with excitement into our program. Stefanie Flerchinger has two small children and her son William is 5 months old. 

Early on Sunday morning, baby William was being held by mama and launched himself from her grasp and catapulted to the ground. He smacked his head on the ground while Stefanie did her best to keep him in her arms. 

Williams parents rushed him to the hospital and a CT scan revealed a skull fracture. The baby was life-flighted to Spokane's Sacred Heart Children's Hospital because doctors feared William had a brain bleed. 

Multiple scans and blood tests were performed and after a night in ICU baby William was released and sent home. They will make the trip back to Spokane in a month to do a follow-up on his recovery.

As you might imagine, bills for this type of family emergency pool quickly and parents with part-time jobs and in school themselves - not to mention a toddler in preschool - there is a daunting financial burden to try to pay for such unexpected expenses. 

We would like to try to raise $10,000 for William's family. Please consider reaching into your wallet and if you feel moved to contribute to this sweet family, I know they will be forever thankful. 

I'm asking that you keep this family in your prayers, if you don't mind. Having little ones already keeps parents busy all the time so with the added worry of William's injury, I know they'll appreciate the prayers and love.

**Update: Baby William is still doing well! The family will soon have a better sense of what the expected amount their “out of pocket” will be once insurance finishes processing — as you may well know, this can be quite the waiting game.
