It is the wild baby season at Centre Wildlife Care.
As the days get longer and the animals awaken from their long winter slumber, the babies are being born. Sometimes tragedy strikes and they lose their mothers before they are old enough to survive on their own.
This is when the staff and volunteers at Centre Wildlife Care jump into action and raise these babies until they can be safely released back to the wild.
These efforts are time-consuming and expensive, so we are throwing a Wild Baby Shower and asking for your help.
Your donation will go towards the food, medicine, housing, and general care of hundreds of baby animals we take in.
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FIND A WILD ANIMAL
Centre Wildlife Care (CWC ) is a 501c3, non-profit, tax-exempt, licensed organization dedicated to caring for injured, orphaned, sick, and displaced wildlife for the purpose of releasing them back into the wild. Professional care is provided to over 1500 mammals, birds, and reptiles per year. Wild animals are not only accepted from Centre County but also surrounding counties, other areas of the state, and other rehabilitators.
What is wildlife rehabilitation?
Wildlife Rehabilitation is the process of caring for orphaned, injured, sick, or displaced wild animals until they can be returned back into the wild. Their injuries are usually a result of human influence in some way (e.g. hit by a car, construction, landscaping, cat/dog caught, shot, poisoned, etc.)
Did you know that CWC is funded by donations and operates with a trained staff of 50-60 volunteers! CWC receives no government funding and relies on donations.
