Baby Shines Big Journey

Hello everyone and thank you for all the love and support! Our baby boy Shine James Arslanian was born on September 16 at 5:54 am at Marshall Hospital in Placerville, CA. He was born 5 weeks early at a weight of 4lb 13oz. We are so blessed to have him in our lives and couldn't be more in love. We apologize for the lack of information over the last few days, but as you can expect we have had our hands full. Shine was born with a very rare disorder that affects about 1 in 300,000 babies known as popliteal pterygium syndrome. In short, he has several anomalies that will require extensive and repetitive surgeries over the course of his early life. As much as we would love to go more in depth on this, it's hard for us to know exactly what type of procedures he will be needing but we will be updating you all as they are happening. Shine will be getting treated at UC Davis in Sacramento and we will be living here with him for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. This is going to be a new adventure we are embarking on and so happy that we get to be the parents of our beautiful son and give him the best life possible. We have chosen to drop everything at home / work and focus on what matters to us most, our son Shine. We are grateful for support in any way including love, prayers, and positive energy.
