Baby Layton Vicencio

Layton was born with paralyzed vocal cords . Hers were paralyzed shut. So from the moment she was born she was unable to breathe through her nose or mouth. For the last two years it has been a struggle for her and her family but we are hopeful to achieve a breakthrough. She is scheduled to have surgery to place a bone graft in her trachea to hold open her vocal cords. If successful she will be able to breathe through her nose and mouth. It requires an extensive stay in the hospital and three or four more follow up surgeries. Mom will be required to take almost 2 months off work . Dad is a disabled veteran and lives off a fixed income. This will be a tremendous financial burden on this family of 7. Anything helps. Prayers are certainly welcome as she will still have a long road ahead as she learns to talk or use sign language.
