"My heart aches. On May 9, 2020, my baby Kade Asher went to heaven. I feel numb, like this is a bad dream I can’t wake up from. Kade had been fighting his whole life and is the strongest little boy I’ll ever meet. He was too young to leave this earth, but I know now he’s in a better place & not suffering . No one can ever prepare you to lose a child, but I know he’s in heaven with his family to protect him. A child that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds. Through us they live on. I love you my beautiful baby boy and I will love you until I die. Maybe it was because you were so special Kade that God wanted you back as soon as possible. My life and my heart will forever be changed by you son!"

On September 8th, 2018, Andres and Jessica were elated to welcome Baby Kade Asher Avila into this world. Kade was born at 7:22 a.m. at 6 pounds, 3 ounces and 19 inches. One of the best moments in Kade’s parents and families lives quickly took a turn for the worst when they discovered Kade was breathing 64% on his own as oppose to the 100% as he should’ve. It was then discovered that Kade had a collapsed lung and he was immediately rushed to intensive care. After thorough inspections from the team at Scripps Memorial Hospital-Encinitas, they discovered the issue was because of Kade’s heart. They immediately transported him to Rady Children’s Hospital Cardiology Center, where just hours after he was born, he underwent open heart surgery. One of Kade’s pulmonary veins was not developed normally and needed to be reconstructed. Pretty intensive surgery for a newborn!
At this time, Kade is under close monitoring, especially after a blood clot was found in his brain. After 3 days, Kade’s little chest was closed up and his breathing tube and ultrasound on his brain were removed. However, after reviewing his brain activity, it was observed that Kade was experiencing mini seizures so the brain ultrasound was put on again.
These past few days has been truly devastating and difficult for Andres and Jessica. As you can imagine, this will have a significant emotional and financial impact in their lives. This fund is being set up to help the family pay for medical costs, missed work, room and board to be near Baby Kade, a myriad of other expenses and any unforeseen financial requirements that will come with Kade’s care.
