Meet Isaiah

A sweet, energetic, and loveable little one year old.

Sadly, Isaiah has been diagnosed with Type B-ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia). Type B meaning he is in the high-risk (ALL) category.

Isaiah lives in Burns Lake with his family, but since his diagnosis he has been sent, along with his mom, to live at Children's hospital in Vancouver, B.C.,(12 hours from home). They will need to stay there full time while he receives intensive treatment for a minimum of 6 months.

If all goes well in Vancouver they will be able to return home, however, they will need to make monthly trips back to Vancouver, and weekly trips to Prince George for treatments, for the next 3 years.

Isaiah is loved and adored by his twin sisters Emma and Maya, big brother Noah, and his mom and dad, Lindsay and Clayton Wainwright. The family is devastated, and extremely heartbroken by this turn of events for their family.  The fact that they will all be apart for the next six months makes it even more difficult.
Clayton and the children will make as many trips as they possibly can to be with mom and Isaiah, but travel will be limited.

Those of us who love them so very much, would like to do what we can to help them through these long trying times to come.

We have started this "Go Fund Me" account for anyone that would like to offer their support, as well; an account has been opened for the Wainwright family at the "Bulkley Valley Credit Union" in Burns Lake should you prefer to donate through a local bank.  We hope these funds can assist them with expenses for their stay in Vancouver, as well as bringing the family together on occassion.  There will also be extensive travel costs to deal with over the following 3 years, so with our help, we can hopefully releive some of the financial worry and concern.

Family and friends are also planning a fundraising event to be held August 12th at the Island Gospel Fellowship Church to give our community a chance to help this wonderful family in these trying times.  We would like to extend an invitation to everyone who would like to attend a potluck dinner, and possible silent auction and/or loonie auction.  If you have any items that you would like to donate, please contact Brenda Payne at 250-692-5719 or Brenda Read at 250-698-7387.  As plans get settled, further information will be posted and shared on Facebook, as well as radio and newspaper announcements.

The family would like to thank everyone very much for the supportive calls, kind words, and caring thoughts.  Your offers of help, and all the food brought to the family have been much appreciated.

We ask that you think of them, and remember them in your prayers. They are asking now that you please pray for baby Isaiah!
Thank you
