Grateful for Grady- cancer & medical treatment

  Grady is my best friend's little boy. His first tumor was discovered when he was just over two weeks old. For over a year he was continually misdiagnosed until a lab in Italy finally confirmed a diagnosis; Primitive Myxoid Mesenchymal Tumor of Infancy. Grady is only 1 of 40 people diagnosed with this rare cancer.
He has had 3 surgeries and 4 tumors removed but his tumors continue to grow and spread. Phoenix Children’s Hospital is now treating Grady with weekly chemotherapy treatments hoping to shrink the tumors so they can be removed.

True friends are like medicine for our wounds and vitamin C for the soul. You can say...."I need you," anytime for any reason and there they are. Nicole Swartz is one of those friends. When I think of what we have shared together and what she and her family are going through, I wish I could give her all of the 'medicine' she has given me.... all the vitamin C from years of friendship and support....I wish I could just bottle it up and give it to her to give to Grady. I wish it was that simple.

Of all the things we could wish for to come true.....I do know this......anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you. The support of friends, and friends of friends and people like you is "the only cement that will ever hold the world together."
