Baby Everett's Been Overcooked

Donación protegida
You know how they say that when you're pregnant that you have a "bun in the oven"?  Well if that's the case then we may have overcooked ours just a smidge.  Baby Everett came into the world at over 41 weeks which made him higher risk due to his Momma having elevated blood pressure, when his Mom couldn't feel him moving.  Grandma was in town to help bring him into the world and she happens to be a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
When Grandma couldn't prompt any kind of response from him we rushed off to the hospital, covered in paint and fearing the worst the whole drive there.  After we got into the hospital and waited for what felt like a tear filled eternity to get a monitor on Mommas belly he kicked, one tiny little kick, and then once we got the monitor on we heard a strong heartbeat.
The midwife decided to begin induction that night starting at a 1 for dilation. Her water broke at 4:15 AM.  Then Momma started to run a fever.....
After a long day of powerful pressure waves, Momma finally decided that she couldn't go any longer naturally and went on an epidural so she could get some rest.  By this point it was 8 PM and the clock was ticking.  Mom was receiving an IV of antibiotics but they were still very afraid of colio since it had been so long since her water broke, (colio is a condition where baby ends up with a high fever and potentially life threatening infection).
At 10:30 the Midwife told us it was time to really get pushing, and PUSH. SHE. DID!  He finally came out at 1 AM, 21 hours after his water broke, on November 30th but with a fever of nearly 104 degrees.  It was discovered that his placenta was nowhere near up to snuff and showed signs of calcification, one more thing that was going against baby Everett.  He got to sit with Momma for a minute but then had to be rushed down to the NICU to receive an IV of fluids and antibiotics.
We are hoping he will be home tomorrow but the NICU is very expensive and since we are technically self pay patients, the costs have added up quickly.  We had in our budget to have a natural vaginal birth, but hadn't anticipated these additional costs and complications.
Any donation of any amount is highly appreciated.
