Baby Evelyn needs your help.

Donation protected
Evelyn was born on November 11, 2016 with an extremely rare, life-threatening illness called SCID. SCID is a serious genetic disorder in which an individual is born with little to no immune system. Evelyn's particular disorder prevents her body from creating T or B cells which are necessary for fighting off illness. Without a functional immune system, Evelyn is susceptible to any and all infections and viruses which the rest of us fight off with ease. The smallest infection or cold may prove to be fatal.

Luckily there is treatment for SCID in the form of a bone marrow transplant. Pending the results of the most recent bloodwork, Evelyn's brother Lucas will most likely be the closest match to donate.

Due to the rarity of Evelyn's particular type of SCID, she is being seen by many teams of the best immunologists in the area (UVA Children's Hospital and Children's National in DC).

If all goes well, if Evelyn stays healthy, and if we find a donor quickly, Evelyn will receive her transplant before Christmas. Afterwards, she'll remain in NICU in DC for multiple months under close observation.

As long as Evelyn remains healthy before and after transplant, she has a 96% chance of survival. We are asking for everyone's help and support throughout the next 6 months as this process will be financially and emotionally costly to us all. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share Evelyn's story.

Thank you all for your support.
