Baby Delilah Heart Surgery Recovery
Delilah was born on October 2, 2017 at 8:17a.m. to Trip and Jessica in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The baby
unfortunately was diagnosed with a heart defect called TGA (transposition of the Giant arteries). Pretty much her arteries were switched and going to the wrong ventricles of her heart, so her blood wasn't getting oxygenated. It was nothing that they could control it is rare and apparently effects 1-3% of babies....there was no way to diagnose it ahead of time because her heart is OK it’s the arteries that are the problem. It was sad for the mom, because she did not even get to hold her til after the surgery days after Delilah was born. They airlifted her Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, right after she was born. She had to have surgery to save her life.
The first surgery was to buy some time or she would have died. They did the second surgery to flip her arteries a couple of days later.
Now it is time for the baby and family to rest and heal.
Mom is still recovering from her C section. And Delilah is getting stronger by the day!!
Trying to figure out care for thier fur babies has been another obstscle. This may be something else the family may need help with.
Being so far from home expenses add up quickly. Please help me in easing the parents mind.
Please put Trip, Jessica and Baby Delilah on your prayer list. We are praying for total healing for both Mom and Delilah. Also praying for peace and comfort for the whole family.
Please help me in blessing this family and praying them through!!
Thank You!!!
