Baby Blue Surgery Fund

Donation protected
On August 25th 2017 Baby Blue was diagnosed with Cranial Cruciate Disease.  The human equivalent of this is a torn ACL.  In dogs this condition is a genetically linked disease.  Baby Blue suffers from it in both of his legs.  While it is common for this to happen, normally it happens in one leg and then years later the other leg.  Unfortunately this is not the case.  Baby Blue's right leg has a worse tear so we will start there.  Another set of X-rays & round of bloodwork (the first round was to confirm he had Cranial Cruciate Disease & could be put on anti inflammatories prior to surgery) and then off to surgery.  There is a 2 month recovery time during which Baby Blue will not be able to be active.  Once he is healed from the right leg surgery he will have to go back for the left leg.  And then we will have to wait another 2 months for him to heal.  The surgery is estimated to cost $3000-$4000 per leg for a total of $6000-$8000.  In addition to the cost of the surgery we will have to get more blood work and X-Rays, rehab, as well as pain medication etc.  This is estimated to be $1000-$2000.  As such we are asking for $9000 to cover both his surgeries and his related medical expenses.  Baby Blue has 2 weeks of anti inflammatories and then he needs to go to Surgery #1 so every dollar counts right now!
