Baby Autumn Arielle's Medical Exp

Donation protected
My son, Kyle, and daughter-in-law, Cindy, just welcomed their first child and my first grandchild into the world on Sunday. Autumn Arielle is perfect in every way except that she was born over 24 hours after Mom's water broke.

The first night was amazing, with her in the room overnight - tons of comforting, snuggling, and cuddling. The next morning, however, her doctors saw signs of infection brought on by Mom's water breaking so early.

She was immediately admitted to the NICU (ICU for babies.) where she can only be held by Mom and Dad, and only to feed every couple of hours. Immediately after she goes right back into her crib, where she lays under heat lamps and UV lights until Mommy or Daddy come back for the next feeding session.

I'm setting this Go Fund Me up because Autumn's health is at risk in anything other than a perfectly clean environment when she goes home next week. The place where her parents currently live is a former Section 8 apartment complex that has been changed back into a standard apartment complex. If my granddaughter were perfectly healthy, I wouldn't worry about her going home there. However, I stayed at their place when I was visiting them. The apartment reeks of cigarettes, mildew, and mold...not a place a brand new baby needs to go to from the NICU. Her Doctors are drafting up letters of recommendation to the medical fact that she should not be brought home to that environment. The apartment complex's management sound like they are going to assist by releasing my son from his contract in light of the Doctors recommendations, but they will need help with rent and deposits and the obvious medical bills that will be rolling in.

This apartment was supposed to be a stepping stone back into civilian life after my son was medically discharged from the military. The Army gave him a 10% disability pay, a stipend, and an ankle he can't walk or work on well. Even though the Army Doctors operated on it several times, each surgery made his situation worse. He still works, though painfully, forty hours a week or more at his Step-Father's pest control company.

These people are not mooches and have not asked for a dime - I, however,  know for a fact they do not have a lot. I've already given them over a thousand dollars to help, but it would be amazing to get more support and love from their community.

If you can help, please do so. This is my first GoFundMe, so I'm feeling this process out. I guarantee, however, that any help you give is going to a good family who just need a boost. If everyone that can gives us just ten bucks, it will add up fast. And, feel free to share this. Throw it out there to the ends of the Interwebs. Every little bit of extra involvement will help.

Thank you so very much for your time and consideration!

Very Respectfully,
New Grandpa Rob

Additionally (and more importantly), if you can only give thoughts and prayers, we completely understand and in no way want you to give money you can't afford to give - we will take anything you throw our way.
