Baby Abigail’s Care

Abigail, the first child born to Justin and Amanda, arrived in San Antonio on Wednesday, 9/11. She was born at 8:19am, weighed 4lbs 8oz, and measured 15” in length. Due to her medical condition, and lots of unknowns, she was delivered by c-section. After her arrival it was fairly quickly discovered she faced some form of skeletal dysplasia. X-Rays determined she suffered multiple fractures throughout her chest, arms, and legs that were healed back incorrectly or in the healing stages. She was born with a small chest cavity and smaller lungs and was placed on a respirator to aid in her breathing. Since her arrival she is fighting hard, maintaining good vitals, and gaining weight; however, each hour there are struggles that are faced.

Justin and Amanda have decided that San Antonio is not the best fit for their sweet girl and are in the preliminary process of getting her transferred to Texas Children’s in Houston (3-4 hours from their home). Their decision is based upon knowing that Texas’ best doctors, hospitals, and specifically, their skeletal dysplasia doctors are in Houston. In order to do what is best for her, they want her in the best location with the best doctors tending to her care.

To aid in lightening their load donations are being accepted to give to them. These donations will be used for Abigail, Justin, and Amanda to seek better care. They will be used for hotels, food, transportation, and lots of other unknown financial burdens that are required.
