Meet our beloved son Sylvester Onyango Ochieng, a precious gift to us born on the 4th October 2017 through spontaneous vertex delivery weighing 2.4kg. Sylvester appeared healthy and quite active during the initial weeks after his birth, however we noticed difficulty in breathing at his 6th week and rushed him for medical attention.
It was found that he has a Large VSD/PDA; severe coarctation which several attempts to correct at The Matter Hospital in Nairobi by Dr. Christine Jowi were not fruitful due to lack of proper equipment to handle the tender operation. She recommended that we take baby Sylvester to India for specialised treatment at Fortis hospital. This however will cost us USD 7000 to conduct the High Risk VSD Closure Coarctation Repair.
We have since exhausted our insurance and savings during attempts to treat the baby here in Kenya and are making this appeal to our trusted friends, family and colleagues to extend us a hand of support to help raise this amount for baby Sylvester for his treatment abroad.
