Lisa's Recovery
Donation protected
Lisa received a diagnosis of Grade 1 Endometrial Cancer on Friday the 13th of September 2019. She underwent a robotic laparascopic radical hysterectomy in October 2019. Thankfully, it was Stage 1 (though upgraded to Grade 2), so the doctor says no chemo or radiation needed, just followups every 3 months for the next few years to keep an eye out for recurrence.
Lisa and her husband are both self-employed, and therefore on their own for medical insurance. They fall into the unfortunate hole where they make too much for ACA subsidies, but not enough to afford the monthly premiums for BC/BS (more than their house payments!). So no insurance coverage for the surgery and subsequent followups. And while the hospital and peripheral providers (anesthesia, etc.) gave her a discount, the bills have piled up to the tune of over $18K.
Lisa is very hardworking, and does all that she can to help others in their time of need. Please help her get back on her feet.
