Chix On Stix for Donnamarie

As many of you know, Donnamarie Colasurdo, ski instructor extraordinaire and our Chix on Stix leader, is undergoing Stem Cell Knee Cartilage Regeneration on both of her knees on April 10th. Her Chix on Stix at Mt. Snow are organizing a "Go Fund Me" campaign to raise some monies to help defray the medical costs and provide some support while Donnamarie is unable to work.
This procedure will use Donnamarie's stem cells taken from her own bone marrow in an attempt to regenerate her knee cartilage and relieve the pain. Donnamarie's goal is to save her right knee forever and prolong the life of her left knee. This procedure is NOT covered by health insurance and is expected to cost about $10,000. This procedure and recuperation will take up to 8 weeks to return to normal activity. Knee replacement at her age and with her occupations (skiing and gardening) is not a viable option at this time. During this recuperation Donnamarie will not be able to do the work that brings so much joy to others, including herself.
In Donnamarie's own words "Despite this sounding rather grim, I am extremely hopeful and totally convinced that this is the course of action I need to take at this time in my life. I LOVE my work and don't want to give any of it up. Being a ski teacher, a gardener and a fitness trainer is me, and I will do everything in my power to keep it that way!"
