Help us with funeral costs

Hi, many of you knew colin as a kind, helpful, friendly man. The local painter and decorator, the dad, doing school drop offs and taxi service to Cubs and scouts etc etc. He was my husband of nearly 15 years. He wasn’t perfect, but who is?! We loved him so much. The sadness that has been left behind from his passing is suffocating. It’s just me and my two girls now. Family have been amazing and have scooped us up in a big protective hug, making us feel as safe and supported as possible in such an awful time. But now it comes down to money. Such an awful thing to have to think about at a time like this, but that’s reality. This was unexpected…this wasn’t meant to happen. We are staring down the barrel of a gun loaded with funeral costs and so many other things. For those of you that know me know that I’m independent and proud and don’t ask for help lightly, even as I write this I’m pausing to think whether I should be doing it. But the truth is, my girls are my world, I need to protect them and provide for them and really can’t fathom having to find money to bury their father and make sure we have a nice headstone so they can visit him. I’m asking for any help you can give, no matter how small, and if you can’t, please don’t feel obliged or guilty, we all have our own stories and I would hate anyone to feel they had to. When we do have funeral plans, for those of you that knew colin and would like to come, you are all welcome. I can’t guarantee me and the girls will be coping too well but we’re going to hold each other close and try. In the meantime, never stop telling your close people how much you love them and how much they mean to you, don’t take it for granted that they know how special and needed they are, life’s too short.
