My Dad, Russell Payne is a local man from Airlie beach, aged 70. My dad has helped many people during his time in Airlie beach and in his taxi driving career. Dad is loyal, compassionate and has worked hard all his life.
Dad has faced many challenges in recent years. His first child,my brother Colin, died during heart surgery at six years of age. In 2020, He lost his taxi driving business and his home due to ill health and financial pressures . At this time, he was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent chemotherapy treatment and T cell replacement. He has struggled financially to meet his basic living needs. He became homeless. His treatment halted the spread of his cancer , until recently when he relapsed and he is undergoing treatment again. He is fighting for his life.
He is currently relying on friends for accommodation.
Russell needs your help to meet his basic needs of food, shelter and transport until he is able to return to good health and independent living.
