Love for Lorna

On January 11, 2018 my friend Lorna received a shocking and devastating diagnosis -  a brain tumour. Fortunately it a type of tumour that is treatable/curable (acoustic neuroma). However, she has been told it will be a long road to recovery.

Next week Lorna will undergo a long and complicated (12 hour) neurosurgery to remove the mass. Most likely this will need to be followed by radiation treatments. Her doctors have told her that the recovery will be at least six months. 

Lorna's husband Josh has been amazing and she has been keeping positive and strong for their 4-year old son Sam. She has been surrounded by love and support from so many - sisters, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers and is feeling really strong and focused on getting back to herself.

Here's where I am asking for your help. Lorna's employer fortunately offers some disability benefits, but they will only cover a portion of her former earnings for the next several months. And, of course, there are lots of new expenses associated with repeated trips to Toronto to the hospital and associated care.
