Help for Shirley & Rick

Our sister Shirley is a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to seven. She has been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of years. While she beat breast cancer 8 years ago, she is now fighting liver and kidney problems. She lives in Connecticut with her immediate family and had been looking forward to attending a huge family reunion in Tucson Arizona on June 19th. The reunion would include her extended family of about 165. She was hospitalized a couple of weeks before she left for the reunion, but told her Doctors at home that she had a “plane to catch” . When they discharged her they said she was good to go and she was glad. Her faithful husband Rick flew the 2500 miles with Shirley, and even though the flight was long and the trip exhausting, they were both happy to spend the weekend with all of the people they loved and missed. There were lots of laughs, hugs and good visits throughout the weekend. On Sunday, two days before they were to head back home, Shirley became very ill. She was hospitalized once again. After a few days of getting better, things went downhill. She desperately needs a liver transplant. She may or may not have a chance of a transplant in Arizona, but for now she cannot travel home. Although health insurance is paying for her medical needs, her husband is at her bedside everyday and can’t go home. In addition to the extra expenses not covered, he is unable to return to his job to make a living. As of now, it’s been more than two weeks with no end in sight. Shirley and Rick have always been so generous to all who were in need and now they are the ones that need help. Please pray for them and help monetarily if you can. No amount is too small. Thank-you.
