Angels for Nola

As many of you already know, our very own Heather Mapes, (a long time Food and Beverage server at Oak Hills and daughter of Candy Mapes) daughter Nola, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Type B. This is an aggressive type of blood cancer in which she has too many white blood cells found in her bone marrow and blood. Thankfully, about 90% of children with this type of cancer go into remission within weeks of starting treatment. Although this cancer is very treatable, Nola will have to maintain scheduled treatments and lots of recovery time. With this being said, Heather will be spending a lot of time away from work in order to support Nola through her journey to a cancer-free life. Considering Heather has three other children to provide for and could be out of work for an extended period of time, her financial situation will be much different. With numerous days spent in the hospital for various procedures, the cost will be greater than insurance can cover. To cover all of Nola's present/ future medical expenses and living costs, any donations will be greatly appreciated during this difficult time. As a Family we can never begin to thank each and every one of you for your support, love, prayers, and hugs. The out pouring of support has already been overwhelming. For anyone who knows the Mapes family, they know how giving and family-oriented they are and any support or prayers during this time are extremely valued as Heather focuses on caring for her family.
