New Prosthetic leg needed

Hi I am Tammy and I am starting this GoFundMe to help pay for a new Prosthetic leg for my husband. 

How he lost his leg is difficult to share but here it is.

I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the age of 35. When I had my lumpectomy I developed MRSA the antibiotic resistant staph infection that goes around hospitals. Chris is a great husband and knew how hard it was for me to look at my bandages and scars so he took over caring for my wounds and bandages. MRSA is really hard to treat. I had multiple recurrences of it, it seemed with everything surgery it would reappear. I choose to do bilateral mastectomies a year after treatment because I was terrified of a recurrence and my cancer type had a very high recurrence rate. The only thing that recurred was the MRSA. 

Chris is diabetic and had a cut on his foot and my MRSA infected him while he was caring for me post-op. He developed it and is deadly allergic to sulfa. He had multiple hospital stays, pic lines for iv antibiotics, skin grafts and the doctor gave him a choice after a few years fighting it. Keep fighting it or amputate below the knee because the infection was in the bone We chose amputation. 

When the amputation happened it took 6 months of hyperbaric chamber treatments to try to close the wound. He only got it closed after a skin cell graft was used. 

We didn't know that prosthetic legs need to be replaced as the remaining limb changes or just wear and tear. This is his 7th leg. Did I forget to mention he has CP? His remaining leg is needing a brace to help him walk as well because his Achilles has calcified and broke and it cannot be repaired.

The time has come for the next prosthetic leg. Yes we have insurance but our copay for the leg is 30% or roughly $8700 and that's just for the prosthetic nevermind the leg brace for his other leg.

Much like so many others times have been tough. Within the past year our transmission went out on our van, our home central air died and we had to replace it all. Our savings took a major hit.

We are not crazy about doing a GoFundMe because so many others need the help too. However, our options are limited.
