Battle C.F. in Memory of David Picard

Donation protected

On June 30th, 2014, Dave Picard lost his battle to Cystic Fibrosis at 25 years old. Far too young for anyone to pass on, but even more devastating for anyone who was lucky enough to have Dave in their life. For all who knew Dave, this process has been, and will continue to be, extremely difficult. Despite the sorrow and frustration we all feel, this is a time to grieve, and even more importantly, celebrate who Dave was as a person; a time to reflect on how many lives he impacted, how many people he loved and loved him back, his accomplishments in life, his creative spirit, and his genuine good nature that made him unique. Any money raised on this page will be directly given to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org) in remembrance of Dave.

Dave's honesty and strength were immeasurable. They were a guiding force in his life and what attracted people to his huge personality. He had an impeccable sense of humor, never afraid to push the comedic boundaries no matter who you were. He was always as active as possible, with skateboarding and snowboarding being two of his biggest passions. He always had a great work ethic and loved being busy. Despite the mounting issues of Cystic Fibrosis later in his struggle, one thing Dave frequently mentioned was how much he wanted to work—roll up his sleeves, get his hands dirty, and feel productive. This speaks volumes about who Dave was. He was never one to ask for help. He was so humble, strong, and resilient—the definition of a true fighter. An inspiration and source of perspective on life, he exuded positivity and strength. He loved his family, friends and beloved dogs in a way that was so true and honest.

He travelled extensively and had found great joy in experiencing new cultures and places. Music and the arts were a huge part of Dave's life. He was a talented musician with an eclectic taste in music, a gifted and thoughtful photographer, technically skilled, with an eye capable of finding beauty every time he looked through a lens. His broad scope of musical understanding and photographic skills gave insight into who Dave was: a man capable of finding beauty and weight in everything from minimalist classical music to progressive metal, of finding beauty in everything from huge landscapes of Niagara Falls to a near microscopic droplet of water. He was an animal lover and had adopted all three of his beautiful dogs to make their lives the best they could be. Dave was an activist in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis, constantly researching and being a source of hope and comfort for people who were dealing with the same thing. He left us way too soon, but that does not diminish the massive impact he had on all of us.

This page is dedicated to celebrating Dave's life and accomplishments. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The final donation amount will be made in Dave's name as a remembrance of his legacy. We need to fund this cause. Let's make a difference in the battle against Cystic Fibrosis.

In Loving Memory of David Picard.
