Salinas, PR Hurricane Relief

Hello, my name is Gabriela De Jesús Colón. I am fundraising for families who have lost everything during Hurricane Fiona. We experienced Hurricane Maria five years ago and still have not entirely recovered; Hurricane Fiona reached the island on Sunday, September 18. The outcome of Hurricane Fiona has significantly impacted families because of flooding, leaving the entire island without electricity and water resources. In all of the municipalities, people have lost their homes and everything they had. With this fundraiser, I plan to help families in need by raising money through an entity, Rangers del Coqui Inc., that will help the communities in need from Salinas, PR. 

Why am I making this? Having experienced this type of natural disaster like Hurricane Maria in 2017, I understand the difficulties and needs many families have to suffer to survive, especially when they don´t count on many resources. This time was different for me. Being away from my family and the people I love has been very hard in this situation, especially knowing that my community and area that I live in is one of the most affected by the hurricane.
