Let's repair Salvadoran homes damaged by Amanda

WHAT HAPPENED
Tropical storm Amanda battered El Salvador for a week, leaving more than 30 dead and thousands of families in temporary shelters. Many families have suffered damage to their homes, from walls, ceilings, to beds and clothes, losing everything due to floods, and landslides caused by the storm Amanda.
Due to the quarantine in the country caused by COVID-19 Salvadorans are even more vulnerable to this natural disaster and it is important that these families are able to repair the damage to their homes and return safely home.
With your help, we will distribute construction materials (concrete blocks, walls and roofing sheets) to repair damage caused in one of the most affected places: Los Flores from Chiltiupan municipality in La Libertad, one hour from the metropolitan area.
WHAT IS NEEDED
We have already carried out a survey in the community and we have identified 12 families that require our help. This number will surely grow in the coming days. For the damage we have seen, an average of $ 1,000 per family is estimated. The expense is only on construction materials. We will take care of the logistics and manage the labor.

We are a group of young people who live in the affected community and in the La Libertad department area. Through a non-profit organization legally registered with the government of El Salvador since 2010, we have built school infrastructure as well as other projects throughout the country in conjunction with funding from embassies and private donors. La tormenta tropical Amanda ha golpeado fuerte a El Salvador desde hace una semana, dejando más de 30 muertos y miles de familias en albergues temporales. Muchas familias han sufrido daños en sus hogares, desde muros y techos, hasta camas y ropa perdiendolo todo producto de las inundaciones, derrumbes, y desbordes de ríos, causadas por la tormenta Amanda.
Debido a la cuarentena en el país por COVID-19 nos hemos vuelto aún más vulnerable ante este desastre natural y es importante que estas familias puedan reparar los daños a sus hogares y volver a casa.
Con tu ayuda obtenida repartiremos materiales de construcción (bloques de cemento muros y láminas para techos) para reparar daños ocasionados en uno de los lugares con más afectados: Comunidad Los Flores de Chiltiupan, La Libertad a una hora de la zona metropolitana.
LO QUE SE NECESITA
Ya hemos realizado una encuesta en la comunidad y para iniciar con el trabajo hemos identificado 12 familias que requieren nuestra ayuda. Este número seguramente crecerá en los próximos días. Por los daños que hemos visto se estima un promedio de $1,000 por familia. El gasto es únicamente en los materiales de construccion. Nosotros encargaremos de la logística y gestionaremos la mano obra.
