let’s help Mario Amate

Antes que nada un abrazo FUERTE a todo aquel que se detenga a leer estas lineas / First of all, we want to send a big hug to anyone who takes a minute to read this lines.

Hace poco más de un año Mario Amate decidió abandonar su país Venezuela huyendo de la pesadilla económica, política y humanitaria que se vive actualmente, lo acompañaron en esta decisión su esposa e hijos, en busca de un futuro mejor en los Estados Unidos.

Hace dos meses, Mario fue diagnosticado de un condrosarcoma de alto grado, a sus 53 años de edad, al mes del diagnostico sufrió un tromboembolismo pulmonar y posteriormente un ACV hemorrágico que dejó grandes secuelas en su organismo hemiplegía faciobraquiocrural derecha, imposibilidad de controlar esfínteres, afagia (incapacidad para deglutir) y afasia (incapacidad o dificultad para comunicarse).

Hace pocas horas los médicos han informado que presenta múltiples metástasis a nivel cerebral y pulmonar

Han sido semanas de angustia, tristezas, protocolos diagnósticos, múltiples tratamientos, noches y madrugadas de internación. Mario Amate sigue luchando contra su enfermedad, de la mano de su familia, que a pesar de todo ha logrado arreglárselas para estar a su lado. 

Los médicos proponen para él, un hospicio donde se garanticen los cuidados que toda persona al final de su vida merece. A estas alturas, los costos siguen elevándose, los números no se detienen, y el tiempo juega en contra. 

Ayúdanos a que Mario permanezca sin dolor y viva en paz su estancia en la tierra. Sumando esfuerzos podemos hacer de este proceso, uno menos duro para sus familiares. 

Escribimos este mensaje con la esperanza de que llegue a todo aquel que tenga que llegar.

Hemos recurrido a este medio de ayuda, luego de insistir a los familiares e intentar apoyar de alguna manera, a sobrellevar esta situación tan complicada. 

Sin embargo, agradeceríamos su discreción para con la familia Amate Leota. Quienes de momento se encuentran totalmente enfocados en la salud de Mario, y a pesar de las buenas intenciones, prefieren no recibir llamadas o mensajes en relación a lo que esta pasando. Por lo menos en este momento. 

Agradecemos su aporte (realmente todo cuenta), y sobretodo las oraciones que puedan dedicar a esta hermosa familia, que estará eternamente agradecida.

A little over a year ago, Mario Amate decided to leave his country, Venezuela, fleeing from the economic, political and humanitarian crisis the country is facing. He was accompanied by his wife and children in this decision to seek a better future in the United States.

Two months ago, at the age of 53, Mario was diagnosed with a high-grade chondrosarcoma. A month after the diagnosis, he suffered a pulmonary thromboembolism followed by a hemorrhagic stroke that left major sequelae in his body (hemiparesis faciobraquiocrural right). Mario is now suffering from the impossibility to control sphincters, afagia (inability to swallow) and aphasia (inability or difficulty to communicate).

Doctors recently told the family that Mario suffers from multiple metastases at the cerebral and pulmonary levels.

These have been weeks of anguish, sadness, diagnostic protocols, multiple treatments, and overnights. In spite of this, Mario Amate continues to fight against his illness with the love and help of his family, which has demonstrated strength and love in the most difficult times.

The doctors have suggested a hospice where the care that every person at the end of his life deserves is guaranteed. At this point, costs continue to rise and time is playing against.

Help us make Mario’s remaining days among his loved ones painless and peaceful. With your help and contribution, we can ease this family’s distress. 

We write this message with the hope that it touches the heart of families and friends. 

We have resorted to this platform after insisting to the relatives and as a way of trying to support their coping with this situation.

We would appreciate your discretion with the Amate Leota family, who at the moment is totally focused on the health of Mario, and despite good intentions, prefers not to receive calls or messages in relation to what is happening. At least for the time being.
