Fontana AYSO Stolen Equipment Fund

Donation protected

AYSO is a non-profit, volunteer-based soccer organization and we are the local region in our hometown of Fontana. We use the city parks as our location for practices and games and we use the snack bar and storage shed as our central location for selling food and storing all our soccer equipment. Our volunteers have dedicated all their extra time, and work hard for the kids to enjoy a fun, fair and safe soccer experience. Fontana currently provides a soccer program to over a 1000 children ages 4 to 18. But on August 4th, the snack bar and storage shed was broken into. This was part of an on-going crime spree in the area with public parks according to Fontana Police. The people responsible seemed to be targeting snack bars, and unfortunately we were one of their victims.

The thieves were searching for money but since they found none they took other valuable stuff instead. Our trusty Golf cart, which is used to carry equipment back and forth every Saturday, 12 nets (for u6, u8 and u10 games) tournament EZups, 6 chairs (4 short, 2 tall), our cash register, our new printer, they severely damaged our 5 shelf lockers, broke open our cash lock box, they took our brand new radios (12 of them), 2 of our ice chests (used to carry water to our volunteers during hot days), our first aid kit, various cleaning items and office products.

Our organization relies heavily on fundraisers, and registration fees to purchase and maintain our equipment. With the season beginning in September (less than a month away), most of the registration fees have been allocated for uniforms, field permits, coaching equipment as well as supplies for coach and referee classes for everyone to begin their season properly trained.

We will be using the left over funds to replace all the goals, radios and first aid kit, as well as anything essential to begin the season. Our golf cart, EZ ups, chairs, lockers and other supplies (as much as they are a necessity) we hope to raise funds at a later time to replace later on in the year, as our main focus right now is equipment for players to begin their soccer season.

With the added expense, we will have to eliminate any and all Opening Day activities, as we just want to ensure the players have what they need to play at the scheduled time of September 9th. We were not initial requesting donations and we only created this account, as we received an amazing response to people looking and wanting to help in . With your generous donations, we hope to stay on schedule and the kids of Fontana, have a great soccer season, and hopefully not phased with what our organization went thru. It may be just a sport to some people, but for most of our players, it is an outlet and a place for them to enjoy themselves while having fun with friends for a few hours during the week. We try to create an environment, free of stress from school or anything else in their personal lives. We do not need to add the worry of not being able to play soccer because of bad choices some people made.

We are hoping that this account will be a good, central location for those that wish to donate. We wish to thank everyone in advance, for any and all donations to our Fontana AYSO Region 136.
