Bring Sam To California Fund
Dearest Friends,
Many of you know me as a person who loves animals and have spent a great deal of my life rescuing strays off the streets.
Last week while I was in Houston, Tx for a work related trip, I stumbled upon a very adorable pit bull mix wondering around the rain as I was driving back from dinner. I pulled over, whistled at her and she came right running to me, wagging her tail. She was very dirty, malnourished and had some skin infections that possibly came from being attacked by another dog. I gave her my leftvoers and she devoured it. She then gave me a look that just melted my heart away. I knew she was a young pup when she tried to jump on me and knock me over.
Needless to say I opened the backseat of my rental car and she jumped right in. I knew I couldn't take her back to my hotel so I did extensive reseach on local rescue groups. Unfortunately no one was able to help me out. Knowing that Samantha (I named her that) stood no chance at the shelter, I managed to find a person that would provide in home boarding. She provided care for Sam the two nights I stayed in town. Unfortunately the cost of boarding is not cheap. Before I left, I prepaid Sam to stay boarded for two weeks.
Sam is a great dog and very affectionate towards humans. She's very playful, smart and has potential to be a wonderful companion.
I've started this GoFund account to help raise the necessary funds to provide Sam with veterinary care and transport her to California where I may have a foster home lined up, possibly permanent adoption. Unfortunately a lot of airlines will discriminate against Sam's breed so finding an alternative way to transport her will prove costly and require dedication to make it happen. All donations made through this site will be used for Sam's medical needs, current boarding expenses, food, and transportation.
