Ayla's wheel chair accessible car
Ayla was born a healthy 8 pound baby...but before being discharged from hospital Ayla began having seizures. .no-one knew what was wrong. Ayla was sent to Sydney for testing and diagnosis. For the first 12 months she suffered terrible pain and has endured surgery to try and correct problems with her hips.
After a few months Ayla was diagnosed with spastic quadraplegic cerebral palsy. Ayla will never walk or talk. ..something we all take for granted. Ayla requires frequent trips to Sydney, 600km away, for treatment of her condition. For now her pain is improved and she is for the most part a happy bubbly girl. When Ayla was a baby getting her around was nice and easy. .not much different to any other child, but as she grows it becomes increasingly difficult to get her around. She requires a wheelchair to move around and to get the wheelchair around requires a wheelchair accessible vehicle. The costs of converting a vehicle for wheelchair access are $20 000. We are hoping to raise as much as we can to assist in either purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle or provide modifications to the current car.
