Medical Bills for Linda Lopez

Hi. My name is Donna Daniel. I have a beautiful sister, her name is Linda Lopez. I am setting up this account for her to help her with medical bills, medications and expenses. Here is information about her courageous journey. She was first diagnosed in November of 2011 after being rushed to the ER for having seizures. She had 117 seizures in 2 days. They ran several tests on her and it was the MRI that revealed she had MoyaMoya. Moyamoya syndrome is a disease in which certain arteries in the brain are constricted. Blood flow is blocked by the constriction, and blood clots. A collateral circulation develops around the blocked vessels to compensate for the blockage, but the collateral vessels are small, weak, and prone to hemorrhage and aneurysms. On X-rays, these collateral vessels have the appearance of a puff of smoke, which in Japanese means MoyaMoya. Her first surgery required an Indirect revascularization. Where they removed the superficial temporal artery from beneath her scalp and then removed bone to expose her brain where they would lay the superficial temporal artery which would after 6-8 weeks create new blood supply on her brain. Instead the doctor removed the superficial temporal artery and 3 blood vessels which took a turn for the worst. By removing the 3 blood vessels on the left side of her scalp it caused her scalp to die. Then came 2 of 5 more surgeries she was to have. It was time for a skin graff and several scalp rotations, a pic line for 6 weeks of IV antibiotic therapy and hyperbarics. She just recently had another surgery June 20th 2014 to clean out the infection under her scalp along with another scalp rotation and she is currently receiving another 6 weeks of IV therapy through a pic line. She is by far the strongest woman I know. She has gone through so much pain, but still keeps a smile on her face. She is a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and bestfriend. She would always help anyone in need and now she is the one in need. Anything that anyone can do would be a blessing to her and her family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless.
