Aydean's Hospital Bill

Donation protected
Hello there! Pictured is our son, Aydean Lentine. He was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 6 months old and he is now 11 years old! The condition that he has effects his lungs and stomach, and the daily treatment he goes through includes breathing treatments, vest treatments, inhalers, and enzymes to help digest food. The constant battle is keeping clear lungs and a healthy weight for his height and age!

Every once in a while, he has to be hospitalized, the doctors call it a "two-week tune up". He went to his quarterly check up with his team of doctors on Tuesday, December 12th, and it was discovered that his lung function had decreased to 51% and he was placed into Phoenix Children's Hospital that evening and has been there since. Through multiple tests, it was found that he has a staph lung infection, and he is being treated with vancomycin. He was having a reaction to that strong of a medication so they give him a max dosage of benadryl each time he receives the medication and is very sleepy and groggy!

While I was in the Marine Corps, any time we were in the hospital for two-weeks, I was placed on emergency paid leave, and I was able to be there for my wife and my son. Military healthcare also picked up 100% of the hospital bill and paid for any medical equipment that he needed. That is not the case anymore as I was medically discharged in 2014 due to knee issues, and although we do have great health insurance, after meeting with the hospital billing this morning, we will be paying just over 7,000 dollars. This includes the copay for the hospital stay, food while we are there, and he is getting a new medical device for his vest treatments since the one we currently have is from 2008!

My wife and I have decided to start this GoFundMe page because that is a lot of money for us and we will do our best to pay as much as we can, when we are able to. I am going back and forth between the hospital, home with our daughter, and work trying to get some hours this week for upcoming bills and what not and it is very difficult. A lot of family and friends are asking what they can do for us... First and foremost prayer! We believe in the power of prayer and he has already seen a slight improvement in his lung function on day two of his medications and the nurses and doctors said wow, that is really quick improvement so it is already working! Second thing to help would be anything financially to put towards his hospital bill and the new medical device.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sending prayers and good thoughts towards our way. If you are able to help financially, thank you, the stress relief alone is enough to make this process a tad bit easier. Brandy and I hope you have a fantastic day and thank you for reading! God Bless!
