Help Batya Fight Cancer
Donation protected
When Batya was 18 months old she was diagnosed with a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) brain tumour, located in her brain stem.
She responded miraculously to standard treatments of radiotherapy and chemotherapy to enjoy a happy childhood with her family members who cherish her and whom she cherishes.
Standard treatments have now run out. However the last treatment of radiotherapy, which was successful, opened the window for a potentially new ground-breaking treatment. The experimental therapy, at this stage, delivers chemotherapy directly into the tumour, via micro catheters using convection enhanced delivery.
The therapy, which is administered at the Harley Street Clinic by leading NHS doctors, is only available on a compassionate basis. The treatment has shown positive results to date and the hope is that if Batya can access the treatment this will give us more moments to cherish in the future and hope for the future.
As this treatment is not covered by the National Health Service, there is a cost of around £150,000. Please help us fund this treatment to gain more time for our daughter and to further the development of this important treatment that may one day contribute to the cure for this truly challenging disease. Batya needs the treatment now as this is one of the most aggressive brain tumours.
