Coco Surgery for infection in her leg

Donation protected
We adopted Coco, a rescue dog, from a Rehoming Centre in January 2018 at 1year 8months old , unfortunately after only having her 2 weeks and due to her having kennel cough when we picked her up, we were unable to take her out until it had cleared.  Once we were able to take her out for a walk, we noticed that she was not putting her full weight on her right leg and limping. We informed the Rehoming Centre from whom we had adopted her, and they diagnosed her with a ruptured cruciate ligament and Coco had to have surgery which was successful.  Unfortunately now 2years later after her surgery Coco has developed an infection in the site of the surgery and needs another operation to have the plate removed that was put in 2years ago.  Due to her being diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament and being a previous injury, the insurance does not cover this treatment. The removal of the plate will cost £2,500 as well as other costs for the ongoing treatment, such as antibiotics and painkillers as well as possible hydrotherapy to help Coco in her recovery. Coco is still a young dog but at this time cannot run and play about like she should be, due to the pain and discomfort this is causing her.
