Hey everyone, on October 14th & 15th, 2017, I will be participating in the Avon 39 mile walk to end Breast Cancer. This is something that I have been mentally and physically training for since late January of this year. In order to participate I have to raise a minimum of $2,000.00 in donations. With that I have decided to use this walk as opening to raise money for both the Irish and American Cancer Associations.
My aim is to raise at least $6,000.00 and split the donations 3 ways. This may not seem like a lot of money, but as we all know treatments, medication, medical bills and every other cost related to help cancer patients get better is far from affordable. If I could help someone get their next chemo treatment, medication, a childs dream trip or even a wig for a patient who lost their hair, then it would make my day.
Like many of you out there I have lost loved ones to different types of cancer and right now my only living Grandparent is battling skin cancer. My Grandfather has had his eye removed over 7 years ago and had many operations trying to remove the tumor, but it kept coming back. Unfortunately they cannot do anymore to remove it. The only thing they can do is give him special medication to keep it at bay.
This is a cause that is close to my heart and I would appreciate all of your help with your donations. Please remember no donation is too big or too small and every bit is greatly appreciated!
I would also ask that with your donation you would write the name of the person your donation is dedicated to and maybe a song you would like me to listen to during my walk.
