My name is Avo, I'm a non-binary trans POC, trying to live in a body that reflects my true identity.
I'm 19 years old and last year I finally decided that it is time to stop my never-ending suffering from gender dysphoria.
It's time to lose those tiddies!
When I was a kid, I knew I didn't fit into the female gender that was assigned to me but I didn't think I had any other choice than to play along.
I felt like a boy stuck in a female body, but after a while I got even more confused since I don’t fit into the concept of a "boy" either.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who I am and where to fit in.
But you know what? There is no place to „fit in“.
My life is a constant transition.
I gave myself a new name, gained strength, and let go of the constant searching to belong somewhere.
I started transitioning from one moment to the other. One second to the next.
Fem guy, masc stud.
Avo. The nonbinary witch.
But my body still doesn't reflect my identity and destroys my empowered mentality every time I look in the mirror.
So, I've decided to finally get top surgery.
I want to feel comfortable with my body and this surgery is going
to completely change my life.
I can wear dresses, go swimming, be naked.
My flat chest will turn me into the confident person that I always dreamed of being.
I live in Berlin, Germany, in a flat that my mom is still paying for, so I luckily had the capacity to save some money for recovery, but there's still a big handful of costs to cover.
I'm going to have the surgery in the Meoclinic Berlin. They have very good, experienced doctors and I feel very safe there!
My health insurance is not covering the costs...the transphobic bureaucracy does not think its necessary.
Heres a chart of the cost allication:
Included in the surgery is the stationary stay, material costs, laboratory costs and of course the fee for the doctors.
The surgery is scheduled for July, 2021.
