Autumn Bacon's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
About 4-5 months ago,  Autumn started experiencing hoarseness, but didn’t seek medical help until it became worse about a month ago. She was diagnosed with vocal cord paralysis on her right side. She has since had CT scans and an ultrasound biopsy of her thyroid. On Dec 8, she was informed she has papillary thyroid cancer (stage 1 aggressive). She is scheduled to have a thyroidectomy on Dec 22 to remove her thyroid, the tumor and all lymph nodes in the area. Per the surgeon, this surgery is considered severe because they will have to go into the left side of her thyroid - possibly causing damage to her only working left vocal cord. If that cord is damaged during surgery, she will have to have a tracheotomy so she can breathe. Once she recovers from this surgery, she will have another surgery sometime early next year. A thyroplasty procedure will be done (permanent medialization procedure where they insert a vocal cord implant to help the paralyzed vocal cord). Her family deductible is $7000/year and she will have to pay this 2x. She will have to attend voice therapy next year (most likely 5 days a week for one hour each). With the cancer being aggressive (already causing permanent damage to her right vocal cords) she cannot wait until January to have the thyroidectomy surgery. At this time, we are asking for help from all our families and friends.
