Austyn Salafia Medical Fund

Austyn Salafia was diagnosed with cancer after a sudden illness this week.  He will require months of chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries to kick cancer's butt.  He's been at Yale for several days and has already had several procedures - he will be starting chemotherapy in the next day.  Austyn's Mom, Laura, has not left his side in his long days and nights at the hospital.

Austyn's family has been active in their community for years, and we'd love to help them out as they start this journey together.  Laura is self-employed and will need to be with him while he gets treatment, and some of Austyn's therapies are not covered by insurance - our goal is to allow them to focus on Austyn and relieve them of the financial burden that inevitably comes with cancer.  We'll be updating our page often to keep you up to date on how Austyn is doing.

In addition to collecting funds, we encourage people to cook meals, provide groceries, and letters of support.  In order to allow for his family to focus on caring for Austyn, we'll be starting a Caring Bridge page to keep everyone up to date.
